THE PLACE
Salt with an address.
Okunoto Endenmura is the producer and salt visitor site listed by Suzu City at Shimizumachi. Its own shop lists Okunoto agehama salt and identifies the operating company at the same address. Current visitor arrangements should be confirmed directly. [1] [2] [3] [4]
THE METHOD
How the salt is made.
Suzu City identifies this producer’s salt as agehama salt. Japan’s agriculture ministry explains the regional method: seawater is spread on sand, sun and wind leave salt on the grains, and seawater rinses the sand to make concentrated brine. Boiling crystallises the salt. This is an attributed description of the method, not an inspection of the producer’s present equipment. [1] [2] [3] [4]
