FOR SALT PRODUCERS

A gift. A story.
A fuller picture.

We welcome gifts of salt and information from the people who make it. Both help us get to know the places behind the products.

Just a gift.

Sending salt is entirely optional. There is no fee to be listed, and a gift brings no obligation on either side. It does not buy a review, a link, a recommendation or a better position in the directory.

We may photograph, taste or write about a gift, but coverage is never guaranteed. If we publish a photograph or review of it, we label it “sample provided free”. Any tasting notes describe our own experience.

Before you post it.

Email contact@salinasol.com with your producer name, the salt you would like to send and the country you are sending from. We will confirm mailing details with you before you ship.

A small, labelled retail pack is plenty. Please include the product name, ingredients, any lot or batch details on the pack, your contact details and an official product or shop link. Please agree any shipping costs or customs charges with us in advance.

Our connection: Salina Sol, Gaucho Provisions and Patagonian Sea Salt are projects under the same ownership. We share this connection with producers before arranging a gift. Read our editorial approach →

IN YOUR OWN WORDS

Help us tell your story.

A few answers can make your profile much more useful. Reply to our email or write to contact@salinasol.com. Answer only what you are comfortable sharing; a short reply, a link or an approximate range is welcome. You do not need to send a gift to contribute.

Your place, people & process
  • What is the name and location of the saltworks, who runs it, and when did production begin?
  • Where does your seawater, brine or salt come from? Do any inputs come from elsewhere?
  • How do you concentrate the brine, form and harvest crystals, then dry, mill, smoke or blend the salt? What heat or energy sources are used?
  • Which steps and products belong to this site, and which take place elsewhere? Is production seasonal, and what changes through the year?
  • What should readers know about your people, history or day-to-day work? Please share supporting links where available.
Your products, best sellers & shop
  • Which one to three products are your best sellers? Please send their exact names and direct shop links.
  • Is that based on units sold, weight or sales value, and over what period and market? An informal description is fine if that is all you can share.
  • Which products do you make at this saltworks, and which do you source or make elsewhere?
  • What pack sizes, ingredients and uses would help someone choose? Where do you currently ship?
Production amounts — entirely optional
  • How much finished salt did this site produce in your latest complete year or harvest season? Please include the year or dates and units, such as kilograms or metric tonnes.
  • An approximate range is welcome. Does the figure describe this saltworks, several sites or the whole business?
  • Is it actual output or production capacity? Please keep those figures separate, and say whether the amount is dry salt, wet harvested salt or finished blends.
  • If useful, share a typical annual range, seasonal variation, harvest days or the split between product types. No sales figures, trade secrets or confidential information are required.
  • May we publish these figures and attribute them to your business? Please mark anything you want kept private.
Visits, photographs & permission
  • Can people visit the working site? Please share the official booking page, season, accessibility information and any restrictions. A shop visit and a production tour can be different.
  • Are there two to four photographs you would like us to consider: the place, people, process or products? Please identify the rights holder, caption and required credit.
  • May we host those specific images on your directory profile and its shop gallery? Please tell us separately whether homepage or category-page use is allowed, and whether we may resize or crop them. Include any restrictions or expiry date.
  • May we publish an attributed summary of your answers? Please flag any corrections to the existing profile and any information that is for background only.

We treat your answers as operator-reported information, not independent verification. A gift or an email reply does not grant permission to reuse your photographs. We record permission for the specific images and uses you approve.
