Salmarim: cork, glass and a sense of place
A closer look at the Elements collection: Portuguese cork, glass and photographs that bring salt and ingredients together.
Explore Salmarim
A square cork container, a glimpse of glass and a coloured paper band: Salmarim’s Elements packaging brings texture to the table before the salt is even opened. Warm cork sits against white crystals, while blue, yellow and red details distinguish Natural, Algarve and Fogo.
Cork outside, glass within
According to Salmarim, the collection combines Portuguese cork with an inner glass container, with reuse as a design objective. Its product pages credit the design to Nutsbranding. The open-container photographs show how the glass vessel sits inside the cork casing beneath a matching lid.

Ingredients set the scene
The photographs are part of the appeal. Natural rests on a bed of salt; Fogo is surrounded by bright chillies; Algarve is paired with citrus. Each arrangement introduces the flavour through ingredients and colour while keeping the packaging in view.
Natural flor de sal
Salmarim describes Natural as hand-harvested flor de sal from Castro Marim. Its shop lists the Elements pack at 125 g.

Citrus and chilli
The 50 g Algarve blend pairs flor de sal with tângera citrus. Fogo, also listed at 50 g, combines flor de sal and chillies. These are the producer’s ingredient descriptions, rather than our own tasting notes.
Back to the saltworks
Behind the packaging is Salmarim’s saltworks in Castro Marim. The producer describes seawater moving through channels and ponds before crystallisation, harvesting, drying and packing. The landscape photographs bring that setting into view.
