03 / SALT FROM ROCK DEPOSITS
Rock / mined salt.
Salt sourced from a rock-salt deposit. [1]
Two routes from the deposit
Rock salt may be mined and crushed. Solution mining instead dissolves an underground deposit with added water and brings the brine to the surface. Our source category includes both; the profile must explain the method. [1]
Himalayan pink salt
PMDC identifies Khewra pink rock salt with the Punjab Salt Range in Pakistan and describes white, pink and reddish salt at the mine. We use a documented mine or production site when linking a product to a place; a broad trade name alone is not enough. [2]
Producer profiles to come.
We have not published a producer profile in this category yet. This is a gap in our directory, not evidence that no producers exist.
