THE PLACE
Salt with an address.
Isle of Skye Sea Salt describes a seasonal pond harvest on the island’s north coast. Its process separates evaporation and draining at the saltworks from sorting and milling in Dunvegan. [1] [2]
THE METHOD
How the salt is made.
The producer fills ponds with Loch Snizort seawater in spring and summer. Sun and wind remove water; the harvested salt drains before a final drying stage in a smaller tunnel. [1]
